At first I was amazed until it occurred to me this could be the early forerunner of a device that the Antichrist will use to kill those who refuse to worship him.

Anyone who watched the Billboard Music Awards this year was astonished at the sight of Michael Jackson, back from the dead. Before all the eyes of the audiences both live and watching television, was an extremely lifelike image of the deceased and beloved pop star. Fully believable, the image is unlike previous transparent holographic technology, the image was in 3D and without transparency.

At first, I was amazed and it captured my imagination until it occurred to me this could be the early forerunner of a device used to create the image of the Antichrist and used to kill those who refuse to worship him.  As I considered what this means, now that this technology is available, I have to wonder if the emergence of the Antichrist isn’t close indeed? How long before we see an insidious image-maker bring this to life. In Revelation 13, The False Prophet, is said to make a very lifelike image of the beast. He will cause it to speak and demand worship from men or they will face death.

This latest version of holographic technology, called Musion Eyeliner,  is invented by a man named Ewe Maass. The producers behind the latest Michael Jackson tour coupled with the release of the Xscape album, have been unwilling to publicly admit the source of the magic that has brought MJ back on the stage. However, the company behind the technology, Dimensional Studios, Inc., made a very public declaration of their involvement in the production to CNN.

The Musion Eyeliner System is a high definition video projection system, giving the amazingly lifelike freeform digital images the appearance of a live person. It has taken the high definition film effects to the live stage venue, without need of a screen. The applications for this new technology could be used not just in entertainment venues, but in marketing, advertising, trade shows, and for digital signage. And these represent only some of the potential applications for this technology. At present, the Musion Eyeliner system is protected by international patents, so it is unique in the field.  The “Eyeliner” only needs a single camera to record the image, and a single projector to play the image back on the stage, without special props like 3D glasses. In a press release, the company stated: “Your imagination is the only limit.”  The projection system even has the ability to turn 2D images into 3D with the use of their virtual screens.

The technology is based on the “Pepper’s Ghost” technology from the 1860’s. Professor John Henry Pepper, an English engineer wowed movie audiences with a special effect in films that allowed people or objects to slowly materialize into a movie scene. Although revolutionary in its time it was still clearly a manufactured image by the machine, while Musion Eyeliner gives the impression of the actual person on stage.

While we are dazzled and entertained by beloved yet deceased performers with the new Musion Eyeliner projection, it strikes me as irreverent and even promoting idolatry, in this current usage. How might this be used in other areas? I don’t imagine they will all have innocent applications. I can imagine it being used in psychological practices to experiment with the potential effects on the human mind. Or I can see how it could be used in some battle arenas as a defensive weapon, to give an impression of a bigger force than is really present. Those are just a few ways I imagine the technology being applied outside of the entertainment industry. Now to the real purpose
behind this masterful use of imagery; To empower the Antichrist and the False Prophet. Once Satan revives the wounded Beast, he will completely take over this person. At that time, the supernatural will be the normal state of existence for the world. The False Prophet will have at his disposal, very powerful spirits to command. So it will not be a stretch to give the Image of the Beast its own voice through supernatural means. This will be a hybrid of technology, and spiritual powers converging to give the Image a voice of its own and the power to kill people. How, exactly, we do not know, but it will be an overwhelming force with power. The power will be able to overpower people through fear, and perhaps even powers to disintegrate or choke the very life out of humans who fail to worship the Beast when commanded. We do not have to have a vivid imagination to think that is possible, with laser technology and other types of weaponry man has devised, formerly only seen in science fiction. Mix that with all the true powers of Hell that will be fully operating at that time and it is not a stretch to know it is not far off. Because we know that it was prophesied that the Antichrist will be promoted by the False Prophet to all the world, some version of this invention will in all probability be one of his chief tools.

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
   And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
   And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
   And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
   And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
   And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
   And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Rev 13:11-17

This quote from the company is prophetic; “Your imagination is your only limit” with this new technology. Is this not what God said at the Tower of Babel?  Today, with satellites, personal computers, internet, and cell phones man can communicate with anyone anywhere with ease. Science and technology is moving forward faster than ever before and global travel is commonplace. Man has lots of ways and opportunities to share information and ideas. The invention of the Musion Eyeliner will certainly open up many new uses leading up to this ultimate end of the Image of the Beast. 

It is truly a remarkable invention, but it makes me uneasy, as it is promoting counterfeit images, trying to give longevity to those who have passed on. Man will not let the dead remain where God has brought them, in a very real sense. This is an example of man promoting worship of the creature, rather than the creator, and an attempt to make man immortal apart from God. Those concerns are only the tip of the iceberg though. In this technology, man has unleashed yet another tool for the Spirit of the Antichrist to be enlivened and emboldened. In the end it will serve Satan himself until Jesus returns and he is defeated. Amen.
