I Get Earthquake News Info in Five Seconds!
Without a doubt we are seeing numerous earthquakes in diverse places like no other people at any other time in history. In the midst of this information age we are bombarded with a steady stream of prophetic signs from around the globe, signs which speak directly of His soon return.No sooner does a big quake hit in the Arctic Ocean or Haiti, then another hits in China or the U.S. The recent Chilean earthquakes, along with roughly 10,000 earthquakes annually reported of 4.0 or greater, are definitely fulfillment’s of a sign among many signs, which Jesus said we should view as absolute evidence of his soon return. Who really knows if this massive increase of earthquakes is happening because of fracking, drilling, global warming or just shifts in the earth’s crust. We do know that Christ prophesied about these phenomena two thousand years ago and that God had these prophecies duly recorded in three separate places in the Gospels. We do know that the prophet Isaiah reported long in advance; “the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.” As far as the amazing numbers and their frequency, these facts could never be known without modern technology, which in-itself is a fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel chapter 12. In previous times the far flung inhabitants of the globe could never have know about these earthquakes or when they were happening. Most tribes and kingdoms had little or no idea of one another’s existence, let alone knowledge of their language. Outside of the flourishing Roman Empire communication with one another was by emissaries sailing perilously on rough seas or slowly along poor and dangerous roads loaded with ruffians and highwaymen.
It is only the advent of communication and knowledge, the advances made by inventions and technology, as Daniel prophesied, over the last few decades which have made it possible for us to even know that so many earthquakes are happening around the earth in a given year. That alone is a mindboggler when one thinks about it.
The lightning speed of travel, the increase in knowledge and the breadth of communication are in themselves signs that we are in the last hour. With the technological advancements of the 20th Century we now have live radio, television, internet, smart phones and satellite monitoring devices to inform us about anything that happens anywhere on this 24,000 mile round globe. In literally a few seconds we can be informed, including the extent of the 4.0 or greater earthquakes that occur on earth roughly every 51 minutes.
We can know of any phenomenal occurrence within a blink of an eye, even faster than it takes for an anchorman on the nightly news to spit the days news out. For example, on Twitter, I’m following Earthquake Robot which tweets me about any earthquake 5.0 or greater as it happens. This was not only inconceivable to grandpa, but to me up until only a few years ago. While we can clearly see a convergence of every prophetic paradigm rapidly coming to a head, we can continually be aware how it is pointing to the imminent return of Jesus Christ. We stake claim that this is a time like no other in the history of mankind.
Prophecies are quickly being fulfilled everyday and so we are told that foretells the return of The One. As it is written, it will be quick as lightning flashing from the east into to the west. It may seem amazing to us who live in these fast paced times that communication tech is constantly evolving to greater capacities and speed but I’m also confident that God easily keeps pace while He communicates by whatever means He chooses to tell us that His Son Jesus is coming quickly; and His reward shall be given to every man according to the things he has done in this life…..and that very much includes how well we have been in communication with Him.
